SFDs at international Policy and Practice Forum*, 2023

From April 25th to 27th the Centre for Science and Environment convened a Policy and Practice Forum with the focus on how to provide inclusive and affordable solutions for water and sanitation management. Organised in collaboration with WRC, IWA, FSMA, University of Columbia, and GIZ, this international meeting brought together over 120 policymakers, practitioners and researchers, with participants from Bangladesh, India, Kenya, Nepal, South Africa, Thailand, Uganda, and Zambia.

More than 10 of the contributors referred to or made use of SFDs in their presentations, illustrating that SFDs remain an important and useful communication tool for the sanitation sector.

More details on the Forum and all the presentations can be found here.

In the margins of the Forum, the SuSanA Secretariat with the support of CSE organized a face-to-face SFD Promotion Initiative Meeting to take stock of SFD activities around the world and learn about recent improvements and innovations to the SFD tool and platform. More information can be found here.

* Was earlier known as SFD Week, first meeting held April 2nd to 5th, 2019.
