Work in progress - SFD under preparation

The University of Leeds supported an interactive training in Nairobi, Kenya in May 2017, where 30 people from local governments and from the private sector learned to produce an SFD graphic. The first draft of an SFD was later on further developed into a full SFD.

While supporting the development of a consultative SFD for Nairobi in February 2018, the University of Leeds also presented the SFD approach to 50 representatives of county governments at a national workshop on sanitation.

 

The process of the production of a SFD report for Nairobi City involved a broad array of stakeholders from the outset. This resulted in a high degree of cooperation, as participants “bought-in” to the concept, fully engaged in the development process and now collectively own the results.

This ownership has increased awareness and acceptance of the sanitation realities of the City and provided a strong impetus for change.
